When I looked at my future, you and I together as the perfect couple was all I could see, But it didn't take me long to realise that my brown eyes had deceived me, We are from totally different ends of the world, So how could I possibly imagine that I could be your girl.
We hit it off at the start, And that had me thinking we would never part, If I had only known I would have hid my feelings among the shadows of the trees, For as I finally face reality I realise that what we had was as unstable as a leaf in the breeze.
But i'll willingly live a lie, Although I know thousands of tear drops i'll cry, Just to hear you say"I love you too." And "I'm a better person whenever i'm with you."
So hold me close and whisper these words in my ear, For darling your voice is the only one I want to hear, And although I know these words are untrue, What more harm could a tender lie do???
